⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Alex Dallas' Horseface is a kick in the balls. It's also about getting kicked in the balls. Or at least, it's about all the shitty things that men do to women, for which they deserve a swift boot in the pomegranates.
This show is funny and touching and thought provoking, but more than that, it's fierce. It's a monologue that all men need to see. It's also a powerful vindication for the femme experience in the face of objectification, sexual assault, and all sorts of patriarchal fuckery. Dallas delivers her message with strength and passion and humour in a dramedy that is expertly performed and tightly written.
Most Fringers will appreciate this performance. However, for anyone with trauma around sexual assault or abuse, the show may be triggering. Send your men!

The Victoria Fringe Festival, presented by Intrepid Theatre since 1986, has become a cornerstone of the city’s arts scene, known for its unjuried, anything-goes approach to performance. For Carmunist and Septimus, Fringe is the highlight of the year. We’ve been involved as volunteers for more than a decade, and more recently, we’ve opened our home to performers as billets. Reviewing Fringe shows is something we’ve talked about for some time, and now we’re putting our experience as fiction editors and theatre stans to work, offering our thoughts and workshop notes for as many performances as we can attend.
